Tigers Baseball Falls To Oglethorpe Co.

Tigers baseball traveled to Oglethrope County to play the Patiots on March 5, 2008. They came up short offensively losing 5-2 in extra innings. The Tigers had the lead until the Patriots scored two runs. The Tigers then tied the game and sent it into extra innings, but Oglethorpe but the game away in the bottom of the eighth with three runs. Reuben Haynes was 2 for 3 with a single and a double. Hunter Ward also hit a single for the Tigers. Tiger pitching during the game consisted of Cohen Cooke (3 1/3 innings). Cooke recorded 1 strikeout, gave up 4 hits and recorded the loss. Haynes pitched 3 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs and stiking out 7 Patriots. The Tigers recorded the loss, but played well defensively against the Patriots. Next for the Tigers will be the Towns County Indians.
